Senator Gets High Marks from National Federation of Independent Business

Washington, DC (August 24, 2016) – The National Federation of
Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading advocate for small business
owners, today endorsed Sen. Mark Kirk
(R-IL) for re-election.
“Illinois small business owners want to see
Mark Kirk back in the Senate next year,” said NFIB CEO and President Juanita
Duggan. “In his first term, the Senator voted to protect small businesses
from overreaching federal regulations and provide long-term certainty about
business expensing. We know that there is much more he will do to help small
businesses grow and create jobs so NFIB members will work hard to re-elect
Senator Kirk.”
“I am honored to receive the support of the
NFIB,” said Sen. Kirk. “Small businesses are the core of our economy in
Illinois, and I will continue to fight as a bipartisan leader in ensuring the
success of small businesses across Illinois.”
Kirk qualified for an endorsement from the
NFIB by achieving a high rating on votes scored in the current Congress. The

businesses need to be freed from excessive red tape and crushing taxes that
hold back growth. He has an excellent record on the issues that matter to job

Kirk’s endorsement today comes from the
NFIB SAFE Trust, the organization’s political action committee. Small
business owners vote in high percentages and they are influential in their
communities.
